Andrew's Week 1

Yesterday Andy was 1 week old. We celebrated by going to the library-sponsored musical concert at one of the local elementary schools. It was my first attempt to take both boys out by myself, and it went well. Matt dug in the dirt, collected pine cones, and then decided, after a song about a spider and another about a shy shark, that he'd listen to some music. Andy ate and slept the whole time.

Today Andy had a weight check at the doctor, and he was already back up to his birth weight - well, a teeny bit over, at 9 lbs 7 oz. He is doing very well. He is one hungry little guy (just like big brother was at this age), but he is also one content, laidback one. The motivation to move is strong with this one; it's going to be hard to hold him back once his strength (which he already has plenty of) and muscle coordination catch up to his desire to get to what he wants. Big brother and cat better watch out!

Some photos from Andy's first week:

He's trying to figure out if he wants to suck his whole hand, his finger (like Matt), or his thumb.

Lots of snoozing!
