Andrew's 2nd Birthday

On July 25 Andy turned 2 years old. He enjoyed a busy day before celebrations began.

In the morning we had Matt's swim lessons at the local pond. Andy had already decided he preferred to hang out with me and enjoy snacks while Matt went swimming.

Finishing his applesauce

Splashing in puddles in the parking lot (apparently more fun than splashing in a pond?)

After swim, we went to the local children's museum for some fun.

Andy spent a lot of time at the train table, of course.

Matt joined him for a bit, too.

Sorting the cucumbers

Harvesting carrots

Dino den fun

Hoisting a bucket on the ship

Matt climbed up into the treehouse and found a hammock

Trying out the washboard

We made Andy a cake (using King Arthur Flour's Chocolate Mousse Cake with Raspberries) and lemonade (using a recipe from a Curious George book) from scratch. He had some hand in them, mainly in licking the bowl.

Andy was excited to have cake and balloons. He would have been content if we stopped there! Since it was late, we opened a few presents and saved others for later.
