We went to some playgrounds, including one newly redone and new to us playground near Jon's work.

Andy trying to figure out if he can make it up the slide

In a boat in the sand

In the little house

Going down the bumpy slide

Playing in the splash pad on a very hot day

Andy drinking from the water fountain (or attempting to - more water may have ended up on his shirt and face than in his mouth, not that he cares)

Sliding down the fire truck

Matt is getting stronger and can sometimes make it across all of the monkey bars

Swinging

Participating in a nature walk, examining the roots of a tree uprooted during one of our March storms

Parading around the playground

Having a good time on the slide

Matt listening to storytime at the playground

Andy preferring to hang out on the playground

Running down the hill, as happy as can be

Pushing Matt on the spinner

Where's Andy? Of course he's with the trucks in the sandbox.

Woah!

Matt had swim lessons at the local pond for two weeks in mid to late July, so every weekday we spent time there. We were so lucky to have good enough weather that we got every lesson in. This year the rec department grouped the four 4-5 year old boys together and sent out one of their male life guards to teach the class, and it was a good class. Matt made real progress. And Andy enjoyed sitting with me, snacking and playing in the sand.

Digging in the sand

Hey, someone stole my seat!

Matt digging with the older boys (Don't worry; all holes were filled in.)

Practicing his swimming

Being silly with Mama

A chilly day in the water

Rain boots at the beach

Down by the water's edge

More digging in the sand

Some other miscellaneous outings:

At the town's block party (on a very hot day, hence Matt's very pink cheeks)

Matt at Plymouth Rock while waiting for 4th of July fireworks

Listening to music at an Arts in the Park program

Paying attention to the animal presentation for another Arts in the Park

Backyard fun

Yes, Andy is sitting in a wagon full of water. And, yes, he is enjoying it.

Batman, brother, and balls

Eating up what I harvested from the garden before it made it inside

Trying out his new shovel truck (a big hit!)

Indoor fun

Building at home

After bath

Relaxing while watching a show (I forget why Andy is wearing a helmet, but it's probably because he found it and decided to put it on just because)

Posing with Curious George and Winnie the Pooh

Matt's storytime: Matt set up his books like the librarian at the library and "read" a book to Dada

Silly face

Mismatched boots

Puzzles and Legos

Sock hands

Matt's finished coloring page from his dinosaur coloring book

Enjoying some of Andy's birthday presents (train storage bin, fire station with fire truck, and magnet tiles)

Andy playing with Matt's lego "anklyosaur" and Matt reading a magazine

Finally, I'll finish with Andy's continued overtures toward the cat.
