It's hard to believe it's already June! I'm trying my best to get this post up, but with Matt trying to drop his naps I'm having a hard time finding any length of time to sit down and work on this.
Our big event of this past month was a visit from my parents. They came for almost a week and helped us do a lot of chores around the house. Matt had a good time, even when assisting.
Reading Clifford the Big Red Dog (and wearing his new shirt)
Petting the cat
One of the highlights was finding not one but two turkey feathers in the front yard (although Matt says, "I think the feaders came from a owl but you think the feaders came from a turkey").
Enjoying some pre-dinner peanuts at Five Guys
Running around the freshly mulched and cleaned up front yard
A couple of photos from my mom
Our other big event was camping in the backyard on Memorial Day weekend. Jon and Matt had picked up a tent, so they set up a mini campsite. In the end Matt decided to spend the night in his own bed, but he enjoyed his first attempt at camping.
Setting up the tent
Waiting for the campfire to reach optimal s'more roasting temperature
Eating a s'more (very sticky, he decided)
We went on a fair number of outings this past month.
Watching the lobsters at the grocery store
Saying hi to the cows and goats at the ice cream stand
Playground fun
Checking out the ducks and lambs at the berry farm
Watching the fish with some friends after a playgroup
At the children's museum
And as always we kept busy at home, inside...
Measuring (most things are "two and a half," units unknown)
Watching the turkeys outside
Coloring his Curious George coloring book
Driving cars
...and outside.
Mowing the grass
Washing off his swing
Matt's new interest this past month was puppets. He's played with them before, but we found plenty while we were out and at home.
With a cricket puppet at a local library
With a grasshopper finger puppet at home
Testing the jaws of the shark puppet
"'Baa,' says the sheep."
A spider crawling on the floor
