Andrew's first birthday was a cool and cloudy day. Jon had work and we had a busy Tuesday planned, but Andy still seemed to have a pretty good day.
Matt and I decorated in the morning.

Matt had swim lessons in a cold pond at noon, and then after a warm lunch we went to the library for a craft activity for Matt. Andy had a good time exploring the library toys and shelves.
Playing with the bead maze
Going through the bins of building toys
Shaking the blocks
Carrying the whole bin of blocks
The sun finally peeked out for a few moments in the evening, so we went outside to play in the new water table, blow bubbles, and pick some of the berries and tomatoes in the gardens.

After dinner, we had some of the cake Matt helped me bake from scratch (devil's food cake with peanut butter frosting - it may not look pretty, but it does taste good).
Blowing out the candles
Andy having fun
Enjoying some cake and frosting
We then opened presents.

All in all, not a bad day for someone turning 1.
