Happy Thanksgiving!

We hope you had a happy Thanksgiving!

Jon, Matt, and I enjoyed a quiet day at home, cooking and sharing our feast with Matt's Uncle Vic.

The preparations actually began yesterday evening.

Matt practiced cooking a Thanksgiving feast, making "corn," turkey, and a potato for me.

Preparing the pumpkins for roasting

Jon and Vic stayed up to do some more prep work while Matt and I went to bed. In the morning Matt and I watched some of the parade (which, according to Matt, had way too many musical numbers and not enough Big Bird, robots, or dinosaurs).

Relaxing in his Batman pajamas, watching the parade

Jon did the majority of the cooking of the turkey, cornbread stuffing, mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts and butternut squash, gravy, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, and ice cream, although all of us helped a little here and there.

A BIG bowl of stuffing!

Watching the turkey go in the oven

Taste testing the ice cream

Watching Dada carve the turkey

Sampling the turkey while the spread was being laid

Dinner! (But unsure if diving into the cranberry sauce with his hands was the right choice...)

Yummy dessert! Homemade pumpkin pie with vanilla ice cream (with leftover Halloween candy)

Matt had a little trouble grasping the concept of Thanksgiving. He wanted us to sing him "Happy Birthday" again instead!
