September 2016 Recap

September is over, and fall is definitely here, with shorter days, cooler (and wetter) weather, and more color in the leaves. We have tried to take advantage of the nice days to spend time at the playground and outdoors, but we are trying to find more indoor activities to keep us occupied when the weather is not so nice. We are also settling into a new routine: Mondays Matt has sports class, Tuesdays he will have soccer, Wednesdays are music class and/or baby story time at the library, Thursdays will be toddler story time at the library, and Fridays are our days for playgroups and outings. Somehow Matt still has energy at the end of the week, but I need the weekend to recover!

Matt is taking a Mini Athletes class, where each week they explore some very basic concepts from different sports. The first week was soccer, the second football. He enjoys it, and it seems to use some of his energy. It also seems to be good practice at listening to and following directions, including directions from someone other than Jon and me.

Soccer week - dribbling

Football week - running with the ball

Football week - "tackling"

Here are some of our little trips outdoors:

With friends on the playground

Participating in a storybook walk and related activities at the playground

At the children's museum - looking at dinosaur "fossils"

At the children's museum - examining the frogs

At the children's museum - showing off the octopus and moose(!) he found in the water table

At the children's museum - trying out ladybug and butterfly wings

At the children's museum - shooing me away from the outdoor table he set with friends
