April Recap

Sorry for the belated post!

This past month we were at last able to get outside and enjoy the outdoors more often than not! I've already posted about a few of our more interesting days, but here are some photos from our more typical days.

The nicer weather finally allowed us lots of opportunity to play in our sandbox, master our slide, and explore our yard.

Down by our swamp

Just monkeying around on the swing set and in the sand box

King of the rock

Helping with the yard work

We spent a good amount of time exploring playgrounds.

Earlier in the month, when it was still snowy and cold

Hurry, hurry, drive the fire truck!

Taking the storybook trail

Trying out all of the different slides

Getting good quickly at climbing ladders

Yet another slide (Can you tell Matt's current favorite thing to do at a playground - other than play in the sand - is go down the slide?)

If we weren't outside, we were inside reading.

Playing his alphabet game on the iPad

Reading to himself

Matt picked out just a few books for me to read before dinner and bedtime.

We also continued exploring art materials.

Discovering stickers

Paint time

Matt's work in various media

Of course we made the rounds at the library story time and children's museum.

Dr. Matt

Hang on, let me check you in.

Taking advantage of the fact most kids were in music class to do the golfball raceway as many times in a row as he wanted

Planting and watering the carrots

A few days the weather chased us into some inside play spaces.

He was able to burn plenty of energy even though he didn't figure out how to work the kiddie treadmill

In the bouncy house

Posing with the shark

We did have another little special event last Saturday, when the library hosted a small petting zoo for its Earth Day celebration. (You may remember seeing Matt with the animals at this same event last year.) As much as Matt loves animals, he remains cautious around the real things (except for cats).

With a young chicken

At last, being able to hold a cat

(A late add: these were taken by the children's librarian)

Finally, here are a few miscellaneous photos from our month:
