Earth Day Celebration at the Library

Today was the annual Earth Day celebration at our local library, and the baby animal petting zoo was back. I realized this is the third year in a row Matt has attended this event! (Here is Matt last year, with the photos just over halfway down the post, and the year before.)

With a baby bunny

Giggling as the baby goat sniffs his boots

Brushing the pig

Checking out the chicken

Saying hi to the duckling

Looking at the baby chicks

Playing with library toys

Matt also spent some time helping Jon rebuild the steps to the side door. Here is he "tap tapping" on some nails:

March Recap

Oh no! I thought I had posted about our March, but I see that I forgot. So sorry! Better late than never, I guess...

We started off the month with a visit to the children's museum.

At the train table

Driving the lunar buggy

Being a triceratops

Playing in the dinosaur room

Painting with watercolors

Driving the fire truck

Matt also attended his class.

Practicing drilling

Playing "popcorn" with the parachute

We also did an Easter egg hunt with some friends.

And we went on our usual errands.

Watching the lobsters at Wegman's

You've already read about our other exciting outings this past month.

With the nicer weather we were able to spend a lot more time outside.

At the playground

Setting up the backyard during the first 70-degree F day of the year

Lots of sandbox time

Pushing around his blue car

Although the winter weather wasn't done yet!

Walking through the snow and trying to make his "push push" move the snow around

Fixing his friend's rapidly melting snowman

Inside time included some art making...

At his easel

"Painting" with water

... and some attempts to make nice with "my cat named Pen-gee."

Of course, he did a lot of playing.

Wearing a backpack makes things more interesting

Fire truck fun

And we did lots of reading, together and on his own.

Matt also helped (and sometimes "helped") out with chores around the house.

Sweeping while driving

Helping Dada unload wood pellets for the wood stove

Sometimes we had silly moments just for fun.

Posing in his full pajamas

Getting ready for bed

I'll end this post as it began: with trains.

In his engineer kit

Playing with all of the Thomases he can find

Hooking up a very long train, still a favorite activity
